Joe Refugio Garnica, son of Alfredo and Gabriella Garnica, was born on June 1, 1944 in Mexico and died on January 3, 2018 in Stockton. Joe spent 48 of his 73 years in San Joaquin County. Joe retired from Pacific Bell in 1993 with an A.A. Degree. Joe planned and developed a subdivision of unique homes in Lynden. Hence, a Garnica Lane exists in Lynden. Joe spent his later years assisting in his son’s plant nursery. Hobbies included writing both poetry and music, public speaking and working on engineering designs using powerful magnets.
Joe is survived by his 99 year-old mother Gabriella and his wife of 24 years, Alison Garnica. Joe has 3 sons: Joe Anthony Garnica, Paul Vargas Garnica, and James David Robertson. Joe has 3 daughters: Amy Christina Antonicchio, Renee Garnica, and Shiree Robertson. Joe’s grandchildren include Evan James Garnica, Austin Driscoll, Raelyn Driscoll, Autumn Conklin and George Conklin IV. Joe is survived by four brothers: Alfred, Lupee, Trini and Albert. Joe is survived by four sisters: Yolanda, Mary, Angie, and Isabel. His brother Sergio died in 2006.
