Obituary for Vivian Morgan

Vivian Morgan
Vivian Marie Morgan was born June 18, 1936 in Beaumont, Texas to Clara Elizabeth and Samuel Elam Washington. Shortly after she was born the family moved to Oroville, CA. She attended Church of God in Christ No. 1 in Oroville where she received her teachings about Jesus Christ. She later accepted him as her Lord and Savior and her relationship with God remained paramount in her life.
Vivian received her elementary education at Burbank Elementary (grades1-5), Central Junior High (grade 6) and Bird Street (grades 7-8) and her High School, Oroville Union High School in Oroville, CA. She attended Sacramento City College and American River College in Sacramento where she studied Real Estate. She also studied Vocational Nursing at Sacramento City College.
In 1952 Vivian married Ellis J. Roberts. She was blessed with two children from that union, Floyd and Gloria Jean. Vivian later met and married John Thomas Morgan, Sr. in 1980 in Sacramento where they lived until 1995 before they relocated to Stockton where John was working. She was very devoted and supportive of John’s career. After moving to Stockton Vivian continued to pursue her education attending San Joaquin Delta College where she studied many subjects; Mathematics, Psychology and Art.
Vivian worked as a Home Health Visitation Aide. She also volunteered for the Society for the blind. She had a Ministry licenses to perform weddings. Vivian was very artistic. She loved to paint, draw, decorate, bargain shop, collect dolls and listen to Christian Saxophone music. Her other favorite thing to do was reading books on Religion, Health, and Psychology. Most of all she loved to work with plants and had an amazing “green thumb”. There was nothing she could not grow. She found much peace and pleasure working in her home garden. She would gladly share cuttings from her plants with others. She loved receiving plants and flowers as gifts.
