Jagdish Brar
On Sunday, July 8, 2018, Jagdish Singh Brar, age 72, ended his journey at the Sutter Tracy Community Hospital in Tracy, CA, surrounded by his entire family and friends.

Jagdish was born in Pakistan on June 15, 1946 to father Late S. Rattan Singh Brar and mother Late Sardarni Jasmail Kaur Brar. He was the second oldest of five children. During the partition of India and Pakistan, his family gone through really tough times when they had to leave everything behind and move to the village of Chand Nawan in Punjab. At a young age, Jagdish worked in the farm along with his parents and siblings. In order to provide a better living and future for the family, he left India in 1978 to work in the Greek shipping line. During this time, he learned a little Greek so that he could communicate with his peers. After 3 years in the shipping line, he had to return back to India when his father passed away. In 2000, along with his wife, he migrated to the United States to be with his son and family. Jagdish enjoyed reminiscing about his travels while working in the shipping line, watching his grandchildren play basketball, dropping and picking his grandchildren up from school, going back to India to visit family, as well as spending time with his friends at the local park.

Mr. Brar is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mohinder Kaur Brar; son Gurjant Singh Brar and daughter-in-law Gurwinder Brar; daughters Virpal Gill and son-in-law Gurtej Gill; Sukhjit Toor and son-in-law Raminderjit Toor; Shinderpal Punni and son-in-law Lukhbir Punni; 8 grandchildren: Simratjeet Singh Brar, Harbir Singh Brar, Pavan Gill, Sunny Gill, Jasskaran Punni, Gurpreet Punni, Kirandeep Toor, Jaspuneet Johal and grandson-in-law Jagraj Johal, and a great granddaughter Sirat Johal.

Mr. Brar is also survived by his two brothers, Surjit Singh Brar and family; Gurjit Singh Brar and family; two sisters, Amarjit Kaur Gill and family and Sukhdev Kaur Gill and family and many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.

Above all else, Jagdish cherished and loved his family and he will be deeply missed by everyone.
