JERRY WAS BORN ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1939 IN DENVER COLORADO. HIS MOTHER WAS ALICE CANNON FROM CANADA AND HIS FATHER WAS KENNETH CARTER FROM NEBRASKA.
HIS SIBLINGS: LEON CARTER, DONNA PERKETT AND CAROLINE SMITH(DECEASED).
HE CAME TO STOCKTON WHEN HE WAS ABOUT 9 YEARS OLD. HE JOINED THE ARMY AT 17 AND TOURED IN GERMANY FOR 3 YEARS. JERRY WAS VERY PROUD TO SERVE HIS COUNTRY.
HE MARRIED THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE ON MAY 15, 1960-GERALDINE ELLA GOYETTE, WHO SADLY PASSED AWAY BEFORE THEIR 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. THEIR CHILDREN ARE: DEBORAH DE LA CRUZ(STEVE), CHERYL DE LA CRUZ(RUDY), RENEE STARK(RUSS) AND MICHAEL CARTER(CATHY).HE ADORED HIS 7 GRANDSONS:STEVEN, CHRISTOPHER, DANIEL, ANTHONY, AARON, RUSSELL AND JOSHUA. HIS SWEET GREAT GRANDCHILDREN ARE: WILLIAM, ELAINA, BRAYDEN AND ANOTHER GREAT GRANDSON DUE IN MAY.
JERRY LOVED THE LORD, TV, A CUP OF COFFEE, AIRPLANES, CHINESE FOOD, WEARING BASEBALL CAPS,WOMEN'S FEET AND SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FAMILY. JERRY SPENT HIS FINAL YEARS AT WALNUT GROVE ASSISTED LIVING WHERE HE MADE HIS SECOND FAMILY. JERRY WAS FRIENDLY, LOVING, CONSIDERATE, GENEROUS, PATRIOTIC AND FAITHFUL. HE GREETED EVERYONE WITH A HANDSHAKE AND THEN A WAVE OF HIS HAND TO SAY GOOD-BYE.HE SALUTED THE AMERICAN FLAG EVERY CHANCE HE COULD GET. HE LEFT YOU FEELING GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF AND TOLD A PERSON HOW BEAUTIFUL THEY ARE.
JERRY WAS A HARD WORKING FATHER, A LOVING HUSBAND AND HAD A GUMPTION FOR LIFE.
HE WAS A BLESSED MAN.
