Obituary for Daniel Richard Lowry

Daniel “Dan” Lowry, 79, passed away resting in his favorite chair on October 17, 2019 at his home in Manteca, California.

He was born January 29th, 1940 to Leonard and Eleanor (Leimas) Lowry in San Jose, California.

Dan was raised in the towns of Morgan Hill, Gilroy and Escalon. Graduating from Escalon High in 1959, where he also became an Escalon Police Officer for 13 years. He then worked long days as a Truck Driver hauling Wine, Milk, Oil & Sugar and retired after 30 years.

On February 22, 1971 he married Shirley Ann Hanaman the LOVE and pinnacle of his life, to which he was preceded in death.

Dan and Shirley were married for 45 years, in which they together raised a wonderful LOVING Family.

Dan is survived by his children Daniel Lowry (Erica), Tina Lowry-Lete (Jess), Andrew Lowry (Donna) and Richard Lowry (Michelle).

Dan was as perceptive and knowledgeable as he was adventurous and engaging. He led his LIFE Fearlessly and Compassionately, but would humbly describe himself as “Just an Ole Farm Boy.”

There will be a “Memorial for Dan’s LIFE” under direction of Parkview Funeral Home located at 3661 E. French Camp Road in Manteca, California on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:00am. A light luncheon will follow at the SPOA building located at 217A Fyffe Street in Stockton, California.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Autism Society Treasure Valley in honor of Dan, who was a great supporter of his grandson Domingo Lete. Please direct donations to the Autism Society Treasure Valley at P.O. Box 44831, Boise, Idaho 83711 or website www.asatvc.org
