Sheryl Alaine Phillips October. 15, 1952 – January 14, 2020
Sheryl (Nana) Phillips was born October 15, 1952 in Stockton, California and earned her wings on January 14, 2020 in her hometown surrounded by family and friends.
Her love of cowboys and adventure blossomed as a young girl attending rodeos with her family. She loved the outdoors including camping trips to Yosemite National Park, boating at many lakes in California, and tobogganing in the fresh snow. Once starting her family, she worked for Diamond Walnut and California Wine Coolers often working long hours or taking second jobs to provide for her family but yet never missing an opportunity to serve on the PTA or as a Home Room Mom. Her children and family were her top priority and you could always count on her for a full story about all the wonderful accomplishments they were achieving. In 2004, she moved to Texas so she could meet her favorite singer/songwriter Willie Nelson and her youngest grandbaby. As a Nana, you could find her at the ball fields or the school always supporting her grandbabies or the countless adopted “grandbabies” that were lucky enough to meet her and have her cheering for them as well. After 15 loyal years, she retired from Walgreens in Cedar Park, Texas, to focus on her health.
Throughout her journey she always kept a smile on her face, always thought of others before herself and loved her family and friends with everything she had.
Once diagnosed she fought bravely and fiercely until the end. God has her in his arms now, but we will always have her in our heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Wenona Phillips, her older sister Gertrude Suddeth and her older brother Chester Phillips. She is survived by her children Steve Bindi of Stockton, Ca., Sheila Bindi and partner Kerry Franks of Stockton, Ca., Dawn and husband Brandon Bishop of Leander, Texas., Guido Jr. and wife Rebecca Bindi of Stockton, Calif. She was a loving Nana to her grandbabies D.J. Walker Jr., Steve Bindi Jr, Scotty Franks Jr., Jordaine Bishop, Dominic Bishop, 5 great-grandchildren, sister in law and best friend Lena Phillips and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
